Cross 25 percent overall and a Senate-level academic-integrity review opens. The fix here has nothing to do with paraphrasing software. It comes down to real paraphrase technique, disciplined quotation handling, correct exclusion settings for the reference list, and stripping out self-similarity that a candidate's own earlier coursework generates. Anugerah Dekan (Dean's List) recognition is per semester, a CGPA of 3.50 and above for that semester, with no failed subject. Kelas Pertama (First Class Honours) is cumulative, a CGPA of 3.67 and above across all completed semesters at convocation. A Year 2 undergrad sitting at cumulative CGPA 3.20 after a weak Year 1 can still hit Anugerah Dekan every remaining semester but cannot mathematically reach Kelas Pertama without retaking Year 1 modules. The recovery plan starts with a credit-by-credit mathematical projection, not a generic 'work harder' brief.
Citation style is faculty-specific, get it right before draft 1, not draft 5
APA 7th Edition is the default for Faculty of Education, Psychology, Social Science. Harvard author-date is dominant at Business Schools (IIUM, MMU, Sunway). Vancouver numeric style is required for Medicine (UM, USM, UPM) and most Health Sciences. Chicago is standard for History. IEEE is the Engineering default at UTM, UTeM and the Engineering faculties.
