The role
What you will do
- Plan and deliver 1-to-1 or small-group Kimia / Chemistry lessons aligned to the KPM syllabus: SPM Kimia (4541) and STPM Chemistry under MPM.
- Diagnose each student's gaps across organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. Atomic structure, periodic table, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, energetics, electrochemistry, acids and bases.
- Drill exam answering technique for SPM Paper 1, 2 and 3 (practical / eksperimen), STPM modular semester papers, IB Chemistry SL/HL, IGCSE Chemistry and Cambridge A-Level Chemistry where relevant.
- Set and mark practice questions, model answers, lab write-ups and past-year LPM and MPM papers, with clear written feedback.
- Share regular, honest progress updates with parents after each topic, experiment or assessment.
Who we are looking for
- A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or a closely related science field.
- IPG-trained tutors and ex-KPM Chemistry teachers are strongly preferred.
- Mastery of the KPM Chemistry syllabus (SPM Kimia 4541 and STPM Chemistry) and confident with Cambridge-style IGCSE and IB Chemistry SL/HL content.
- Strong command of practical / eksperimen technique. Able to coach students through SPM Paper 3 lab-based assessment and STPM practical components.
- At least 1 year of tutoring or classroom teaching experience.
- Based in Malaysia and eligible to work here, reliable and genuinely good with students.

Pay range

Actual rate depends on level taught, your qualifications and experience (IPG-trained / ex-KPM teacher / graduate), and lesson format. Higher levels (STPM, IB HL, A-Level) and practical / eksperimen coaching sit at the upper end of the range.

Do I need to be IPG-trained to tutor Chemistry?
No. IPG-trained tutors and ex-KPM Chemistry teachers are preferred and earn at the higher end, but graduates in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields with strong subject knowledge and tutoring experience are welcome to apply.
