Pay range
RM40 – RM110 per hour
Actual rate depends on the age group, your qualifications and experience (Education / Languages background, HSK certification, speech & drama coaching), and lesson format. Group enrichment classes and HSK preparation sit at the upper end of the range.
The role
What you will do
- Run engaging Mandarin enrichment lessons for ages 4–12, building vocabulary and confidence in speaking through songs, stories and role-play.
- Adapt lessons for SJK(C) pupils (literature, speech & drama, calligraphy basics) and non-vernacular SK or international school children (foundation Mandarin as a second or heritage language).
- Prepare interested students for HSK Levels 1–3, the international Chinese proficiency benchmark suitable for young learners.
- Bring Chinese culture to life through festivals, Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn, Qing Ming and Dragon Boat, using picture books, crafts and simple traditions.
- Share warm, honest progress updates with parents after each topic, so they can see their child's growing confidence.
Who we are looking for
- Native or near-native Mandarin proficiency, with clear pronunciation suitable for young learners.
- A background in Education, Languages, Chinese Studies or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience teaching children, tuition, kindergarten, speech & drama or enrichment centres all count.
- Patience, warmth and a creative, engaging teaching style, comfortable with songs, games and stories, and happy to teach far past the textbook.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience teaching or tutoring children; HSK examiner or speech & drama coaching is a plus.
- Based in Malaysia and eligible to work here, reliable and genuinely good with young children.

Do I need to have taught in SJK(C) before?
