The role
What you will do
- Plan and deliver 1-to-1 or small-group Sains lessons aligned to the KPM syllabus (KSSR Tahun 1-6 and KSSM Tingkatan 1-3).
- Run inquiry-based teaching and guide hands-on eksperimen and practical work, including safe alternatives for online lessons.
- Build answering technique for open-ended and structured questions in PT3 Sains and SPM Sains (1511), with KBAT higher-order thinking practice.
- Set and mark practice papers, model answers and past-year LPM questions, and give clear written feedback after each topic.
- Share regular, honest progress updates with parents and flag students who may benefit from the Fizik / Kimia / Biologi specialization paths at Tingkatan 4-5.
Who we are looking for
- A relevant Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science) or Education degree.
- IPG-trained tutors and ex-KPM teachers are strongly preferred.
- Strong grasp of the KPM Sains syllabus across KSSR Tahun 1-6 and KSSM Tingkatan 1-3, plus SPM Sains (1511) question styles.
- Confident running practical / eksperimen sessions and explaining scientific reasoning in plain language.
- At least 1 year of tutoring or classroom teaching experience.
- Based in Malaysia and eligible to work here, reliable and genuinely good with students.
Pay range
RM50 – RM140 per hour
Actual rate depends on level taught, your qualifications and experience (IPG-trained / ex-KPM teacher / graduate), and lesson format. SPM Sains (1511) revision and small-group sessions sit at the upper end of the range.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be IPG-trained to tutor Sains?
No. IPG-trained tutors and ex-KPM teachers are preferred and earn at the higher end, but graduates with a strong Science background and tutoring experience are welcome to apply.
Can I teach only KSSR Tahun 1-6, or only KSSM and SPM Sains?
Yes. You choose your levels. Many tutors focus only on KSSR inquiry-based Sains, while others specialise in KSSM Tingkatan 1-3 and SPM Sains (1511) revision.
What about Fizik, Kimia and Biologi at Tingkatan 4-5?
Edustar lists those as separate roles. This Sains role covers general/combined Sains up to SPM 1511. If you specialise in Fizik, Kimia or Biologi, apply to those roles instead.
